Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR)
At AFPD, we display our corporate social responsibility through the contribution to local communities, enhancing their well-being via projects and initiatives and providing humanitarian relief. We recognize the teambuilding and motivational opportunities afforded to our people by helping them to participate in community-related initiatives.
In this part of our website, we describe some of the events we have done so far to spread corporate social responsibility practices throughout AFPD.
2007 CSR Activities
AFPD Charity Movie Night with Kids from SPD
AFPD organized a Charity Movie Night at Golden Village (GV) Tampines Cinema on 14 June 2007 for the disabled kids from Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD). Two days before the event, an internal "Adopt a Kid for a Movie" Charity Booth was held on 11 June 2007 and 12 June 2007. Since it is the school holidays, employees were encouraged to do their part by adopting a kid. The adoption will enable a kid to enjoy the Fantastic 4 Movie: The Rise of The Silver Surfer.
Said one of the kids, Daniel Seah (pictured on the far left), a Secondary 5 student with Osteogenesis Imperta, "I enjoyed my experience at the Fantastic 4 movie on 14 June 2007. This is because I do not go to the cinemas often. It has provided me an opportunity to enjoy the company of my parents and spent time with them. The movie is suitable for all families and I have enjoyed it very much as it has great graphics and an interesting storyline. I would like to thank AFPD for this invitation and sponsoring the SPD's clients to watch the movie. I really hope that you will organize more events for us and through this you will help to put a smile on us."
Futsal Tournament 2007
AFPD helped to co-organize a nationwide futsal tournament "Futsal
2007" with Muhammadiyah Welfare Home (MWH). The event was held
at the Cage on 10 March 2007. Volunteers from Raffles Institution (RI),
Ngee Ann Polytechnic and AFPD helped the staffs from MWH to set up the
place. AFPD sponsored goodies bag for this event which included a jersey,
towel and mineral water. AFPD Pte Ltd received a MWH Challege Trophy
Award as a token of appreciation from the Home.
